NALSC offers Indigenous Alternative Dispute Resolution through the Talking Together Program to people that identify as Indigenous, Metis, First Nation and Inuit from Timmins to Wasauksing so North Bay, Nipissing, Parry Sound and surrounding areas. This program helps those individuals navigate child welfare in a culturally appropriate manner, through a circle process. NALSC has also just this April began to offer a new service called Nih-Keewaywin which serves youth ages 15-23 who are involved with Child Welfare, have a voluntary youth service agreement, extended care agreement, customary care agreement or are looking to transition out of society care. This youth-led program helps the youth in a culturally appropriate manner plan for their transition out of care and into adulthood by connecting them to culture, family, education, identity etc. The fact sheet outlines all areas covered.
